Scrap Metal Yard Labourer / Forklift Operator

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Scrap Metal Yard Labourer / Forklift Operator to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in working safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a forklift to load, unload and move scrap metal safely.
- Sort and separate scrap materials, including copper, brass, steel, aluminium and other recyclable metals.
- Receive and inspect incoming materials.
- Prepare and complete paperwork, including tax invoices, delivery dockets and other documentation.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment.
- Provide excellent customer service when dealing with suppliers and customers.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
Skills & Experience
- Current Forklift Licence (LF) with practical operating experience.
- Previous experience in a scrap metal, recycling, warehouse or industrial environment is highly regarded.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling.
- Reliable, punctual and committed to workplace safety.
