Project Manager / Senior Project Manager – Sustaining Capital Projects (Mining)
Are you a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager with a strong background delivering sustaining capital projects within mining, resources, energy or heavy industrial environments?
We are seeking an experienced project delivery professional to join a Perth-based team supporting the delivery of brownfield capital projects across operational mining assets. This role offers the opportunity to manage projects from scoping and design development through to execution, commissioning and handover, working closely with engineering teams, site stakeholders and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
The position is ideally suited to someone who enjoys operating within live operational environments where safety, production continuity and stakeholder alignment are critical to project success. You will play a key role in managing project scope, cost, schedule and risk while ensuring engineering and design activities remain aligned with project objectives.
The Role
Lead sustaining capital and brownfield projects through the full project lifecycle.
Manage projects from concept development, scoping and design through to execution and close-out.
Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams across mechanical, civil, structural, electrical and controls disciplines.
Work closely with site operations, maintenance and engineering stakeholders to develop practical project solutions.
Manage contractors, consultants and project delivery partners throughout execution.
Support shutdown planning, tie-ins and project implementation within operational constraints.
Monitor project performance across safety, cost, schedule, quality and risk.
Drive project governance, reporting and stakeholder engagement activities.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver capital projects within live operating mining and industrial environments.
Lead design management and engineering coordination activities throughout project development.
Manage project budgets, forecasts, schedules and reporting requirements.
Oversee procurement, contract administration and contractor performance.
Coordinate engineering reviews, design development and technical decision-making processes.
Identify and manage project risks, changes and operational interfaces.
Support commissioning, handover and project close-out activities.
Ensure projects are delivered safely and in accordance with client standards and requirements.
About You
Ideally 8–15+ years' experience delivering capital projects within mining, resources, energy or heavy industry.
Mechanical Engineering background highly regarded.
Strong experience delivering brownfield and sustaining capital projects within operational environments.
Demonstrated experience managing engineering design development and multidisciplinary design coordination.
Experience with fixed plant infrastructure, mining processing facilities and/or bulk materials handling systems.
Exposure to shutdown execution, tie-ins and operationally constrained project delivery.
Strong contractor, stakeholder and commercial management capability.
Experience working within engineering consultancy, EPCM or owner's team environments.
Strong understanding of project controls including cost, schedule and risk management.
