We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Maintenance Fitter to join our team and work alongside our Head of Maintenance, maintaining our production equipment, forklifts, and truck fleet.
About the Role
The successful applicant will assist in the maintenance, repair, and servicing of our vegetable processing equipment, forklifts, trucks, and facility infrastructure.
You will work closely with our maintenance team to ensure all plant and equipment operate safely and efficiently while supporting our food safety and quality systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on processing equipment
- Carry out general repairs and maintenance across the site
- Assist with servicing and maintenance of forklifts and company vehicles
- Ensure machinery and equipment are operating safely and efficiently
- Complete maintenance records and preventative maintenance documentation
- Follow HACCP, GMP, food safety, and workplace safety requirements
- Complete Hot Work Permit documentation when required
- Report equipment issues and maintenance concerns promptly
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop and work area
- Work collaboratively with production and maintenance team members
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, or similar trade
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems
- Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Strong commitment to workplace safety
- Good communication skills and willingness to work within a team
Desirable
- Experience in food manufacturing or GMP environments
- Understanding of refrigeration, freezer, or air-conditioning systems
- Forklift licence
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Exposure to HACCP and food safety systems

Pay: $35.98 – $42.00 per hour
