As a Casual Registered Nurse within our Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology team, you will play an important role in delivering exceptional patient care throughout every stage of the treatment journey.
Working alongside a highly experienced multidisciplinary team, you'll provide compassionate support, clinical expertise, and reassurance when patients need it most.

More specifically, you will:
As a key member of our nursing team, you will support the delivery of safe, coordinated and patient centred care by:

Providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing medical oncology and radiotherapy treatments

Supporting patients through their treatment journey by delivering compassionate care, education, and emotional support

Administering systemic therapies and medications in accordance with clinical protocols and medication safety principles

Delivering patient education regarding treatment plans, symptom management, side effect monitoring and supportive care strategies

Providing hands on clinical care including central venous access device management, wound care, skin management, and clinical assessments

Monitoring patient wellbeing and escalating concerns appropriately using sound clinical judgement

Coordinating patient appointments and daily clinical workflow to support a seamless treatment experience

Collaborating closely with Medical Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, Radiation Therapists, Allied Health professionals, and Patient Services teams

Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation to ensure continuity of care

Utilising structured communication tools such as ISBAR to support safe and effective team communication
-
Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and maintaining compliance with NSQHS standards and best practice guidelines

You are a compassionate and adaptable nurse who is passionate about delivering outstanding patient care.

Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
-
Minimum two years post graduate nursing experience preferred
-
Experience in Medical Oncology, Haematology, Day Oncology, Infusion Services, Radiation Oncology, or related specialties is highly regarded
-
Chemotherapy administration accreditation is desirable

Experience in central venous access device management and wound care
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with patients and families

Excellent clinical assessment, problem solving, and decision-making skills

A commitment to delivering patient centred care and maintaining clinical excellence
