Catering Project is a fast-growing hospitality and events business delivering premium catering, event execution, and food service solutions across Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.
We work across corporate functions, private events, large-scale activations, and premium hospitality experiences. As our operations continue to expand nationally, we are seeking experienced and adaptable Casual Event & Logistics Drivers to join our team.
This is not a standard delivery role — we are looking for hospitality-focused professionals who can support both logistics operations and onsite event execution while representing the Catering Project brand with professionalism and confidence.
About the Role
The Casual Event & Logistics Driver role is a hybrid position combining:
- Delivery and logistics operations
- Event setup and pack-down
- Client-facing event support
- Operational assistance onsite
You will play an important role in ensuring events are delivered smoothly from dispatch through to onsite execution. This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy variety, work well under pressure, and thrive in fast-paced hospitality environments.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics & Deliveries
- Load and check catering equipment, food and beverage orders prior to dispatch
- Complete deliveries safely, efficiently and on time
- Follow delivery run sheets and Optimo scheduling requirements
- Ensure all items are delivered accurately and signed off onsite
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of company vehicles
- Communicate delays, issues or discrepancies in real time
Event Setup & Operations
- Assist with onsite event setup and pack-down
- Set tables, furniture, styling elements and catering stations
- Support food and beverage service where required
- Assist Event Managers and operational teams onsite
- Execute event briefs and setup standards correctly
- Ensure equipment is handled and packed correctly post-event
Client Service & Representation
- Represent Catering Project professionally onsite
- Communicate confidently with clients and venue contacts
- Maintain strong presentation and professionalism
- Provide solutions-focused support during service periods
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous driving and logistics experience
- Previous hospitality, catering or events experience
- Valid Australian Driver Licence
- Ability to lift and move catering equipment safely
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly
- Availability for early mornings, evenings and weekends
Highly Regarded
- Event setup and event operations experience
- Corporate catering experience
- Food & beverage service experience
- Experience working in premium events or venues
- Refrigerated van driving experience
- RSA Certificate
Applicants must have unrestricted working rights in Australia.
Pay: From $33.38 per hour
