ESSENTIAL:
- Certificate II or higher in Community Services Qualification;
- Ability to communicate with indigenous people from different communities and interest groups;
- Ability to work under pressure;
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a community-based organisation;
- Cross cultural sensitivity and understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal Communities and people;
- Sound knowledge of Aboriginal culture & family dynamics and the impact of trauma;
- Ability to manage challenging and aggressive behaviours when dealing with intoxicated clients;
- Ability to perform soundly in a crisis situation;
- Current Police Certificate (within 3 months) and Working with Children Check;
- Current WA “C” Class Drivers Licence;
- Ability to work outside of normal business hours;
- Ability to travel and stay overnight/s as required
DESIRABLE:
- Well-developed computer skills including the use of all Microsoft Office Suite.
