About Us
AVM is South Australia’s leading provider of venue management services. It is responsible for operating three of Adelaide’s most iconic venues: Adelaide Convention Centre (ACC), Adelaide Entertainment Centre (AEC), and Coopers Stadium (CS), in addition to functions and events at The Drive (TD).
At Adelaide Venue Management (AVM), you'll have the opportunity to influence every stage of the employee lifecycle while supporting the teams behind some of South Australia's biggest conferences, concerts, exhibitions, sporting events and live entertainment.
About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager - People, you'll join a collaborative, high-performing People team that values innovation, partnership, and continuous improvement.
This is a broad generalist role with a strong focus on industrial and employee relations, business partnering and people leadership. You'll provide practical, commercially focused advice while helping deliver initiatives that support our people, culture and organisational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Provide trusted HR advice and support to managers and employees across all AVM-operated venues.
Partner with leaders to manage employee relations matters including performance, misconduct, investigations and disciplinary processes.
Support industrial relations activities including correspondence, consultation, meetings and enterprise agreement matters.
Coordinate and facilitate the AVM Consultative Committee.
Lead and support the performance review process, coaching leaders to have meaningful performance conversations with their team.
Partner with the People Team to deliver best practice recruitment, onboarding, learning and development, retention and employee engagement initiatives.
Assist in developing and implementing People strategies, policies, and programs that align with organisational objectives and good corporate governance.
Contribute to continuous improvement projects that enhance the employee experience across the organisation.
About You
You're an experienced HR professional who enjoys partnering with leaders, solving complex people challenges, and building strong workplace relationships.
You'll bring:
Demonstrated experience in a senior HR or People & Culture role.
Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and industrial relations.
Proven experience managing complex employee relations matters with confidence and professionalism.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
A collaborative, approachable and solutions-focused mindset.
Outstanding organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
High computer literacy and experience working with HR systems.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline.
