This is a 12 month contract
You’ll make an impact by:
- Providing pragmatic regulatory compliance advice and constructive challenge to business leaders across strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations
- Leading the effective management and continuous improvement of the Bank's Obligations Management Framework and Obligations Register
- Identifying and assessing emerging regulatory changes, helping the business understand impacts and prepare for implementation
- Conducting compliance oversight reviews and thematic assessments to strengthen enterprise compliance outcomes
- Preparing high-quality governance reporting for senior leadership, Risk Committees and the Board
- Building trusted relationships with stakeholders across the business, acting as a valued compliance subject matter expert
- Supporting the development of policies, standards and compliance frameworks to ensure they remain contemporary and fit for purpose
- Representing Great Southern Bank at industry forums, regulatory engagements and external compliance networks

To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in a senior regulatory compliance role within banking or financial services
- Strong knowledge of Australian financial services legislation, regulatory frameworks and industry standards, including APRA Prudential Standards, the Corporations Act, Privacy Act, Customer-Owned Banking Code of Practice and AML/CTF requirements
- Proven experience providing compliance advice and constructive challenge to business stakeholders
- Experience managing regulatory obligations, governance reporting and enterprise compliance frameworks
- Strong understanding of operational risk and compliance management frameworks within a Line 2 environment
- Exceptional stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently at all levels
- Strong analytical skills, sound judgement and the ability to interpret complex legislation and regulatory guidance
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes in a dynamic environment
- Degree qualification in Business, Law or a related discipline
- Postgraduate qualifications in Law, Risk Management or a related field, and membership of relevant professional Governance, Risk or Compliance associations (desirable)
