About the role
Provide clinical care to ENT inpatients and outpatients at WCHN under consultant supervision, including participation in the after-hours roster. Contribute to safe, high-quality surgical services while demonstrating commitment to clinical teaching, education and involvement in research activities.
Key duties of the role
- Provide comprehensive ENT clinical care across outpatient, inpatient and emergency settings under consultant supervision, including assessment, diagnosis, management and follow-up of paediatric patients.
- Participate in emergency, procedural and on-call duties, including coordination of acute presentations, trauma and retrieval activities where applicable.
- Contribute to safe perioperative and procedural care, including investigation interpretation, documentation, and coordination of patient flow across the continuum of care.
- Engage in teaching, supervision and education activities for junior medical staff and students, including case presentations, grand rounds and departmental training programs.
- Participate in quality improvement, clinical audit and research activities to support evidence-based practice, service evaluation and continuous improvement.
Skills and Experience
- MBBS (or equivalent) with eligibility for general registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a medical practitioner.
- Demonstrated clinical competence appropriate to the role, with sound decision-making and problem-solving skills in a high-demand clinical environment.
- Strong ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, communicating clearly with patients, families and healthcare colleagues.
- Proven capacity to manage workload under pressure, adapt to change and maintain a positive, professional approach.
- Commitment to patient-centred care, quality improvement, feedback responsiveness and continuous professional development.
