The opportunity
As a Team Leader Youth Development, you will lead a passionate team delivering programs, events and initiatives that empower young people across Hobsons Bay. This is a rewarding leadership opportunity to shape youth services, build strong community partnerships and ensure young people are supported, connected and able to thrive. Working within the Youth Services leadership team, you'll drive innovative and inclusive programs that respond to the evolving needs of young people aged 12 to 25.
What you’ll do
- Lead and support a team of youth professionals to deliver high-quality youth programs and services.
- Manage the planning, delivery and evaluation of youth programs, events and initiatives across the municipality.
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with schools, community organisations and local stakeholders.
- Ensure services operate safely, effectively and in line with youth work best practice and Child Safe Standards.
- Oversee budgets, grants, reporting, communications and continuous service improvement activities.
What you need to succeed
- Tertiary qualification in Youth Work, Community Development, Psychology, Recreation, Arts or a related discipline.
- Significant experience leading teams within youth, community or human services environments.
- Strong knowledge of youth development principles, ethical youth work practice and Child Safe Standards.
- Demonstrated experience building partnerships and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent planning, project management, budgeting, risk management and reporting skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and within a team.
Some outside hours and weekend work required, occasionally.

Pre-Employment Requirements
Progressed candidates will be required to complete a National Police Record Check, a Working With Children Check (WWCC), Youth Mental Health First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of commencement, Current First Aid and CPR qualification or ability to obtain immediately.
Candidates must also hold a valid Victorian Driver's License.
Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa with full unrestricted working rights. Work eligibility will be checked as part of the recruitment process.
