About the role
The position is responsible for contributing to high quality communications to support the implementation of Council’s marketing, communication and media initiatives in line with Council’s Strategic Plans.
You will work with the Media & Communications Coordinator to coordinate and develop Council’s suite of communication collateral in a timely manner and to a high standard, including, but not limited to:
- Marketing, media and communications policies, plans and strategies;
- Video and social media content;
- Publications including reports and newsletters;
- Media collateral;
- Advertising including a Council Column;
- Councillor communications including fortnightly updates and media summaries
- Speeches and editorials
- Banners, flags, signage and noticeboards; and
- Other materials as required.

Remuneration
$86,282.04 - $97,610.76 + 12% Superannuation
Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in communications or other relevant field, or equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrated experience or proven ability in communications and public relations, the production of promotional materials and assisting with communications activities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated administrative and organisation skills along with the ability to prioritise and effectively work on several assignments at the same time.
- Experience in researching issues and maintaining accurate databases of information.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in drafting promotional materials, shooting and editing videos, taking photographs and using relevant computer software.
