Position: Childcare Cook
Purpose of the Role
The Childcare Cook is responsible for preparing healthy, nutritious, and balanced meals and snacks for children each day. The Cook ensures all food is prepared safely and in accordance with food safety regulations, allergy requirements, and the centre's nutrition guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children.
- Follow the centre's menu and dietary requirements.
- Cater for allergies, medical conditions, cultural, and religious dietary needs.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
- Store food safely and monitor food temperatures.
- Order food supplies and manage kitchen stock.
- Keep accurate food safety and temperature records.
- Ensure the kitchen complies with all food safety regulations.
- Work cooperatively with educators and management.
- Assist with special events and celebrations involving food.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience in preparing meals, preferably in a childcare, school, or commercial kitchen.
- Food Handling Certificate.
- WWCC
- Police Check
- Knowledge of food allergies and safe food handling practices.
- Good organisation and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay: $27.00 – $28.00 per hour
