About the role:
The Road Policing Enforcement Division (RPED) maintains traffic camera availability at a sufficient level to dramatically increase the likelihood of speed and red-light offence detection, creating a real deterrent to dangerous road behaviour and establishing a base for long term modification in driver behaviour and attitude thus reducing the number and severity of road traffic collisions.
Consisting of both VPS and Sworn staff members; RPED issues all Road Safety Camera Infringements, which involves strong engagement with road safety partners and contracted service providers that maintain the traffic camera network. Functions within the RPED also include review of all infringements, nomination of infringements, brief preparation/prosecution assistance, mobile camera roster management, infringment evidence validation, tolling infringements/prosecutions, high risk driver investigations, and infringement management for all of Victoria Police.
As one of the successful applicants you will join the team bringing with you appropriate administrative, team management and customer service experience. The Team Leader position will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and administration of their portfolio within the RPED including supervisory duties of the team.

Your duties will include:
Monitor, supervise and undertake the administration and/or personnel functions of the Unit, providing motivation, mentoring, performance management and coordination of training activities to team members, as appropriate;

Investigate, research and analyse issues and recommend improvement initiatives applicable to standard operating processes;

Establish and maintain a strong effective working relationship with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient business practices;

Direct and manage the flow of active files to ensure the timely and efficient processing and completion of tasks in accordance with legislative and local procedural requirements;

Undertake a range of administrative, auditing, financial and purchasing transactional activities including the preparation of briefs and reports for Senior Management and other stakeholders.
About You:
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:

Experience in a leadership capacity, such as coaching and developing staff;

Demonstrated skills in interpreting and applying complex legislation/policy;

High level problem solving skills;
-
Proven ability to work in a team environment through flexibility and achieving common goals;

Highly developed interpersonal skills, both verbally and written;

Proven ability to monitor client and stakeholder satisfaction;

Strong computer skills.

These positions are located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands, however you may be required to work at any other location within Victoria Police as required.
