Berrigan Shire Council is seeking a Grants Officer to join our team! The purpose of this position is to manage Council’s end-to-end grants function including the identification, development, submission, management and acquittal of external funding opportunities.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Delivering strong funding outcomes for Council by identifying strategic grant opportunities and delivering high-quality applications, ensuring they align with Council priorities, funding objectives and assessment criteria
- Enhance Council’s grant success, recognition and funding readiness though robust research, analysis and expert advice that ensures applications and funded projects meet funding, legislative and best-practice compliance
- Ensure effective governance of externally funded projects by managing all funding agreements and any related variations, whilst maintaining clear documentation, approvals and keeping communication transparent across stakeholders
- Safeguard Councils’ funding integrity and reputation by ensuring accurate, timely grant reporting and ongoing compliance with funding agreements, conditions and deadlines
- Act as Council’s single point of coordination for all grant related communications with funding bodies and internal stakeholders to support clarity, consistency and strong relationships
What You’ll Need:
- Australian Driver's Licence and ability to maintain.
- Qualification(s) in accounting, project management, asset management or similar discipline, or with relevant experience, or both.
- Understanding of good governance, procurement and grant management principles
- Maintain a satisfactory Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check

This is a full-time position classified as Grade I (Entry Level) under Council’s current salary structure. The salary range is $92,153.43 to $103,720.33 per annum, commensurate with qualifications and experience, plus 12% superannuation. The role is based on a 70-hour, 9-day fortnight, with employment conditions in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2026.
