About the Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing production equipment to minimise downtime and maximise operational efficiency. You will work across a variety of industrial machinery while supporting continuous improvement initiatives throughout the site.
Key Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance on production lines, gearboxes, chains, drive systems, conveyors, and associated equipment.

Conduct routine inspections and servicing to minimise equipment failures and unplanned downtime.

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults, completing repairs in a timely manner.

Assemble, align, install, and commission new machinery and replacement components.

Carry out machining and fabrication tasks using lathes, mills, grinders, and welding techniques including TIG, MIG, and oxy welding.

Read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and maintenance documentation.

Maintain accurate maintenance records and report equipment performance issues.

Work collaboratively with production teams to ensure minimal disruption to operations.

Follow all Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) policies, procedures, and safe work practices, including the correct use of PPE.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance equipment reliability and plant performance.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Fitter, or equivalent.

Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment.

Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Experience with machining and fabrication equipment and welding techniques.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.

A strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.

Forklift licence, EWP licence, or confined space and working at heights tickets (desirable but not essential)
