Kitchen Hand – Part Time
Docklands | Monday to Friday | Approx. 23 hours per week
No weekends or public holidays
We’re looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Hand to join our busy Docklands café.
This is a permanent part-time, daytime position working approximately 23 hours per week across Monday to Friday.
You’ll work closely with our Head Chef and kitchen team, helping with food preparation, dishwashing, cleaning and keeping the kitchen organised and ready for service.
The role
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Washing dishes, utensils, pots, pans and kitchen equipment
- Cleaning and sanitising kitchen benches, equipment and work areas
- Assisting with basic food preparation such as washing, peeling, chopping and portioning ingredients
- Helping unpack and correctly store food deliveries
- Labelling and dating prepared food and ingredients
- Keeping fridges, storage areas and kitchen workspaces clean and organised
- Assisting the chefs with simple food preparation and assembly as required
- Following food safety and hygiene procedures
- General kitchen cleaning throughout the shift
- Helping the kitchen team wherever required during busy periods
About you
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable working in a busy kitchen
- Organised and able to follow instructions
- Happy to get stuck into dishwashing and cleaning
- Able to work efficiently while maintaining good hygiene standards
- Friendly and comfortable working as part of a small team
- Available Tuesday to Friday during daytime hours
- Experienced in a kitchen hand or similar role is preferred, but not essential
- Has Australian working rights
Hours
Approximately 23 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Daytime shifts only.
No weekends and no public holidays.
Pay
$26.44 per hour plus applicable entitlements under the Restaurant Industry Award.
