FARM SUPERVISOR
The Farm Supervisor will work closely with the Farm Manager to coordinate activities, supervise farm workers, and ensure the efficient and effective implementation of farming practices.

Responsibilities:
1. Supervision and coordination
- Supervise farm hands and picking crews, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring adherence to schedules and quality standards.
- Coordinate with the Farm Manager to plan and prioritize daily activities, including planting, harvesting, irrigation, fertilization, and pest control.
- Monitor work progress, address issues and obstacles, and make adjustments as necessary to optimize productivity and efficiency.
2. Field Operations
- Assist in the execution of field operations, including planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops, as well as maintaining crop health and soil fertility.
- Operate farm machinery and equipment safely and efficiently, performing routine maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Monitor weather conditions, soil moisture levels, and crop development to inform decision-making and optimize farming practices.
3. Quality Assurance
- Ensure that all farm activities comply with quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements
- Monitor crop health, identify signs of pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies, and report findings to the Farm Manager for appropriate action.
- Participate in quality control inspections and harvest evaluations to maintain product quality and meet consumer specifications.
4. Recordkeeping and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of farm activities, including planting dates, crop yields, chemical applications, equipment usage, and labour hours.
- Assist in inventory management, including tracking supplies, materials, and equipment to ensure adequate stock levels and timely replenishment.
5. Training and Development
- Train new farm workers on proper procedures, safety protocols, and equipment operation to ensure competency and compliance.
- Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members to foster skill development, teamwork, and continuous improvement
- Promote a positive work culture characterized by mutual respect, communication, and collaboration.
The Farm Supervisor plays a vital role in our farm's success, supporting the Farm Manager in overseeing daily operations, managing resources, and ensuring the highest standards of productivity, quality, and safety.
Key performance indicators:
- Effective implementation of all agronomist recommendations.
- Efficient record keeping ensuring compliance with all FreshCare and other regulatory standards.
- Efficient inventory management.
Pay: $38.00 – $40.00 per hour
Experience:
- Farming: 1 year (Preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Full Driver Licence (Preferred)
