Role Details
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Tradesperson to provide electrical maintenance and operational support across our Barossa winery sites. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for planned and breakdown maintenance, fault finding, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement projects while ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance.
This is a hands-on position that requires strong electrical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a busy production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Investigate and rectify electrical faults and plant failures.
Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and reliability improvement activities.
Complete planned, preventative, and breakdown maintenance efficiently.
Support the commissioning and optimisation of new and existing plant and equipment.
Contribute to engineering and continuous improvement initiatives.
Perform routine servicing, monitoring, testing, and fault finding of electrical systems and equipment.
Safely isolate plant and equipment in accordance with company procedures.
Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
Ensure apprentices, contractors, and colleagues follow safe work practices.
Maintain compliance with relevant standards, legislation, and site requirements.
Assist with the development and review of maintenance procedures.
Maintain accurate records within the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Identify opportunities for plant and process improvements.
Ensure maintenance activities meet agreed service levels and performance expectations.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician.
Minimum 5 years' experience (including apprenticeship) in an industrial environment.
Current unrestricted Driver’s Licence.
Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Experience developing and implementing electrical maintenance schedules.
Ability to contribute to the design and implementation of new plant and equipment.
Ability to work autonomously while maintaining accountability and responsibility.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office and CMMS systems.
Desirable Experience
Wine, food, beverage, or other manufacturing industry experience.
Experience working within TPM and/or 5S environments.
Experience maintaining winery processing equipment.
PLC knowledge and troubleshooting experience.
High Risk Work Licences (Forklift, EWP, Confined Space).
First Aid Certificate.
Working at Heights certification.
Experience preparing reports and maintaining detailed documentation.
Flexibility to travel intra/interstate and work flexible hours when required.
