Key responsibilities include supporting the efficient flow of assessment clinics through coordination of appointments, imaging and pathology, and ensuring timely communication of results. The position also involves liaising with health professionals to obtain critical clinical information, maintaining accurate client records, and utilising reporting systems to track patients through their clinical pathway and address any gaps in care. A strong focus is placed on person-centred communication, providing compassionate support, information and counselling to women diagnosed with breast cancer and their families.

Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Demonstrated recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an environment appropriate to BreastScreen.

Demonstrated ability to participate in and coordinate processes within a clinical environment efficiently and professionally utilising excellent time management skills.

Demonstrated counselling experience in a medical/cancer environment or agreement to complete relevant counselling qualifications within a reasonable timeframe following employment.

Demonstrated ability to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive.

Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with clients, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs.

Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise.

Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.

Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and to use own initiative.
