Play a key role in supporting tax compliance, reporting and governance activities across Beach Energy
Beach Energy is seeking a Tax Accountant - Process & Systems to play a key role in our delivery of efficient, accurate and scalable tax compliance, reporting and governance.
As part of our Finance & Corporate Services division, you’ll work closely with the Tax team and stakeholders across the business to support direct and indirect tax obligations, maintain high-quality tax data, strengthen controls, support audit-ready documentation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager Tax, this role is ideal for a tax professional who enjoys working with data, technology and process improvement while applying their technical expertise to support business outcomes in a dynamic and evolving environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Support the preparation and lodgement of corporate income tax, GST, FBT, royalties, PRRT, excise and other taxation obligations
Manage tax data, including validation, analysis and reporting activities
Support audits, regulatory reviews and emerging reporting requirements
Develop and maintain reporting, dashboards and control frameworks to support governance and decision-making
Perform control monitoring, testing and validation to ensure compliance with internal policies and external obligations
Design, document and improve end-to-end tax processes across compliance, reporting and governance activities
About You
We're looking for someone with strong analytical capability who enjoys solving problems, improving processes and leveraging technology to deliver high-quality outcomes. You'll be detail-oriented, commercially minded and capable of building strong relationships across a broad range of stakeholders.
You’ll thrive in this role if you have:
CA, CPA, or equivalent professional accreditation
Experience working with SAP or other ERP systems, Power BI and data analytics tools
An interest in digital transformation, process automation and continuous improvement
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
Sound knowledge of Australian taxation legislation and compliance requirements
Knowledge of New Zealand taxation requirements (desirable)
