We are looking for an upbeat, customer-focused Deli Team Member to be the face of our department. You will help our shoppers discover the perfect meats, cheeses, and olives while maintaining the high standards our community loves.
What You’ll Do
- Create Great Experiences: Greet customers warmly and answer questions about ingredients and products.
- Prep & Serve: Slice meats and cheeses to exact specifications using commercial slicers; build fresh salads and party platters.
- Merchandise: Keep display cases fully stocked, beautifully arranged, and clearly priced.
- Maintain Safety: Sanitise workstations and equipment while strictly following food safety regulations.
- Manage Stock: Rotate products (FIFO method) and alert management to low inventory.
- Handle Transactions: Weigh and label items accurately.
What You’ll Bring
- Ability to stand for long shifts and lift heavy supplies.
- Friendly, clear communication for a fast-paced environment.
- Basic arithmetic for weighing products and transactions.
- Flexibility, happy to work 4 days a week across rotating weekday, weekend, and public holiday if required, ideally being available from 1:30pm to 7:00pm.
Bonus Points
- Previous deli or food service experience.
- Active Food Handler’s Certification.
- Confidence operating commercial meat slicers.
