The Opportunity
UniSC's Information Technology team is a strategic partner in delivering innovative, reliable and secure technology services that support teaching, learning, research and business operations. As the University continues its digital transformation journey, Enterprise Services plays a critical role in modernising network services, enhancing cyber resilience and delivering a secure, high-performing digital campus experience.
As the Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Network Services), you will provide technical leadership across UniSC's enterprise network environment, spanning campus, data centre, cloud and wide area networking technologies. Working closely with stakeholders, project teams, vendors and service providers, you will guide network architecture decisions, develop strategic roadmaps and ensure the delivery of secure, scalable and resilient network services.
You will play a key role in major network initiatives, including campus network modernisation, software-defined networking, wireless services, firewall platforms, internet connectivity and cloud networking. Through technical leadership, operational excellence and continuous improvement, you will help deliver future-ready network solutions that support the University's strategic objectives.

You will
- lead the design, implementation, support and continual improvement of UniSC's enterprise network environment, including campus networks, data centre networking, wireless services, SD-WAN, firewalls, load balancing and cloud connectivity;
- develop network architecture standards, technical roadmaps and strategic plans that deliver secure, resilient, scalable and high-performing network services;
- provide expert technical leadership across network projects, including vendor evaluations, solution design reviews, implementation oversight, operational readiness and knowledge transfer activities;
- drive network automation, monitoring, operational excellence and service reliability through contemporary engineering practices, documentation and continuous improvement initiatives;
- provide advanced technical support and governance for complex network incidents, problems, changes and major service improvements;
- oversee work completed by external vendors and service providers, ensuring solutions align with UniSC standards, architecture principles and operational requirements; and
- contribute as a network subject matter expert to strategic University initiatives, supporting digital transformation, cybersecurity, cloud adoption and modern campus technology programs.
About you
You are an experienced infrastructure professional with a strong background in enterprise technologies, technical architecture and modern infrastructure operations. You enjoy solving complex technical challenges and have the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery across diverse technology environments.
A collaborative and trusted technical leader, you build strong relationships with stakeholders, communicate complex technical concepts clearly and thrive in environments undergoing digital transformation. You are passionate about continuous improvement and are motivated by delivering secure, reliable and innovative technology solutions that make a meaningful impact across the organisation.
