Position Title: Expression of Interest: Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist
Employment Type: Fixed Term Contract Part-time until 18th December 2026 (One 3.5-hour session per week)
This is a pilot program, and it is our intention that the role continue beyond the pilot phase as an ongoing position.
Role description
Dhelkaya Health is seeking expressions of interest from experienced and passionate Obstetricians and Gynaecologists to support the establishment of our new Public Women's Clinic while contributing to our well-established maternity service.
This exciting opportunity offers the chance to help shape an innovative, multidisciplinary women's health service designed to provide accessible, person-centred care for women across our region. Working alongside General Practitioner Obstetricians (GPOs), midwives, nurses, allied health professionals and administrative staff, you will play a key role in delivering comprehensive and evidence-based women's health care.
The Public Women's Clinic will be introduced through a staged implementation, with a long-term vision of a fully integrated service offering specialist gynaecological care, nurse-led triage, booked appointments and collaborative management of women's health conditions.
As Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, you will:
- Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis and management of a broad range of gynaecological conditions.
- Support maternity services in collaboration with GPOs and midwives.
- Develop individualised treatment and care plans for women referred from internal and external providers.
- Undertake procedural and surgical care through access to dedicated operating theatre sessions, subject to clinical demand.
- Provide ongoing follow-up care for gynaecology patients.
- Mentor and support GPs, nurses and midwives, contributing to workforce capability and clinical excellence.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical governance activities and quality improvement initiatives.
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of a contemporary women's health service that enables all clinicians to work to their full scope while improving access and outcomes for women in our community.

- RANZCOG (or equivalent)
- Registration as a medical practitioner with AHPRA
- CPD currency with RANZCOG or equivalent
