An excellent opportunity exists for a motivated and friendly Doctor with AHPRA Registration to join our busy practice in a full-time or part-time capacity and become part of the Roxby Downs community.
Roxby Downs Doctors Surgery operates in Roxby Downs, a mining town in outback South Australia which exists for the purpose of supporting the nearby Olympic Dam mine, owned and operated by BHP. It was built in 1987 and was officially opened on 5 November 1988.
Roxby Downs is set amongst some of the most beautiful desert scenery in Australia. The red earth, always blue skies and green native vegetation is a sight to behold. Residents are also regularly treated to magnificent sunsets and sometimes even a spectacular desert lightning storm.
Roxby Downs has many leisure and community facilities including swimming pools, a cinema which showcases the latest feature films, a community library, cultural precinct, community radio, shopping centre, schools, TAFE, cafes, Gymnasium and sporting clubs and facilities. The town has an abundance of services and activities to cater to family and childcare needs and has a kindergarten, public and private primary schools and secondary school.
Roxby Downs Doctors Surgery is located within an MMM 6 location, entitling the successful applicant to the GP Rural Incentive payment, up to 180k over 5 years (60k per annum thereafter), plus the Rural Procedural Grants Program.
The Practice
Roxby Downs Doctors Surgery is a well-established and friendly Doctor-owned practice with a loyal following of patients and is collocated with the Hospital, dentist rooms and Community Health centre, so the working environment is vibrant and relaxed. The hospital provides limited in-patient and Emergency services and our GP’s share in a roster providing daily emergency on-call support.
We are mixed-billing, fully-computerised and accredited to RACGP standards. We have on-site Pathology collection and there are a range of visiting allied health professionals and specialists also on-site.
Roxby Downs Doctors Surgery employs experienced practice nurses and support staff who provide confident and effective support to our GP’s and create a warm and welcoming environment for our patients. We pride ourselves on our happy team environment and our positive and constructive relationships with the local hospital, pharmacy and other healthcare services. We also have visiting practice managers and software trainers to assist in developing Practice processes.
The Position
We are seeking one full-time GP to join our team who have a view to long-term employment and are dedicated to providing high quality healthcare and building excellent relationships with local patients. GP’s with special interests are encouraged to apply, as we strongly support increasing healthcare services to the local community.
Requirements:
- Current AHPRA registration + at least 2 years of experience in Australia
- Recent emergency skills training and experience to share in the hospital on-call roster
- Excellent computer skills for the paperless practice
- Team-player to meet accreditation standards
- Willingness to work from 8am or to 8pm weekdays and some weekends, balanced with time off to enjoy life
Remuneration
Excellent remuneration on offer, minimum $150k per annum. A combination of fixed rate and percentage of billings based on skills and experience and accommodation assistance can be discussed for the right candidate.
