About the Opportunity
As a Clinical Nurse Educator, you will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate clinical education programs that build capability, confidence and clinical excellence in nurses and midwives during their first three years of practice.
Working collaboratively with Clinical Nurse Educators, Nurse Educators, managers and multidisciplinary teams, you will provide ongoing clinical support, education and mentorship to staff and students while promoting evidence-based practice, patient safety and high-quality care outcomes.
You will provide education, support and guidance to early career nurses throughout Murrumbidgee Local Health District which will involve travel to district sites.
As the Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE), you will:
- Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate clinical education programs and learning activities across Murrumbidgee Local Health District.
- Support the orientation, transition and ongoing development of early career nurses and midwives, including GradStart Registered Nurses.
- Facilitate clinical teaching, competency assessments and professional development opportunities to promote safe, evidence-based practice.
- Identify learning needs and contribute to education planning, workforce capability development and mandatory training compliance.
- Provide mentoring, coaching and support to students, novice clinicians and nursing staff across a variety of clinical settings.
- Collaborate with clinical teams and fellow educators to develop, implement and evaluate education resources, programs and district-wide initiatives.
- Contribute to quality improvement activities and support continuous enhancement of clinical education outcomes and patient care.
About You
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
- Demonstrated experience in clinical education, mentoring and supporting the development of nurses and/or midwives, particularly early career clinicians.
- Strong clinical knowledge with the ability to assess competency, facilitate learning and promote best practice.
- Excellent communication, coaching and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and support diverse learners.
- A commitment to evidence-based practice, patient safety, quality improvement and workforce development.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams across a range of clinical settings.
- Current Class C Driver Licence and the ability and willingness to travel across Murrumbidgee Local Health District.
