About the role
An exciting opportunity to join the Eneabba Rare Earth Refinery has become available. The refinery is in the execution phase, with the SMPEI installation works having commenced.
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join the Project team on a 12-month contract to effectively coordinate Structural, Mechanical and Piping (SMP) installation works and complete the balance of Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) scopes. This position is responsible for coordinating resources, materials and equipment to ensure the project is completed on time, to quality and within budget.
This position, based in Perth HQ, will work primarily on a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, with regular site visits.
Specific responsibilities will be:
Plan & coordinate construction activities including contractor management
Liaise with internal stakeholders and internal clients to ensure their needs are catered for during the scoping, planning, execution and close-out of projects’ works
Contribute to the achievement of successful project outcomes measured in terms of time, cost and quality
Monitor quality and quantity of externally provided engineering deliverables and carry out corrective action where necessary to ensure these meet requirements
Conduct incident investigations, whether the incident is HSE-related or major findings throughout the execution of the project
Participate in regular site project meetings and report on progress regularly (plan versus actual)
Review and make changes where necessary to shift plans
Ensure work crews and supervisors are provided with sufficient information and resources to allow them to complete planned tasks
Conduct daily inspections on work crew performance, progress and safety
About You
To be successful in this role you will ideally have:
Degree in Engineering or related discipline (e.g. Mechanical, Civil) or equivalent
Mining, minerals processing or petrochemical plant engineering experience (6-10 years)
High standard of behaviours that align with Iluka’s values

High level of attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Experience using SAP, Microsoft Office & Microsoft Project
