About the Branch
The Infrastructure Division has responsibility for the provision of facilities (land, buildings and equipment,) which include demographic forecasting and facilities planning, strategic asset management, capital works programs, the maintenance and minor works programs, facilities and property management and security and emergency management.
The Infrastructure Operations Directorate is responsible for delivery of asset and facilities management services including facilities operations contracted services, environment services, security services to WA’s public schools, and leasing and property management. The Director also has functional responsibility for the management of the WA Schools Public Private Partnership (PPP) contract and other service contracts.
About the Job
The Director Infrastructure Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for leading the delivery of asset, facilities and property management services across Western Australia's public school network.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Infrastructure, the position provides strategic leadership across a diverse portfolio encompassing as strategic procurement and contract management, environmental health, water management, security, leasing and property management. The role ensures schools receive safe, effective and value-for-money infrastructure support services through strong operational leadership, strategic planning, contract management and continuous improvement.
Leading a significant statewide service delivery function, the Director is responsible for driving operational performance, managing risk, overseeing substantial budgets and resources, and ensuring services meet legislative, contractual and policy requirements. The position provides high-level strategic and commercial advice to senior executives and government stakeholders, while fostering strong partnerships across government, industry, service providers and school communities.
As a member of the Infrastructure Division leadership team, the Director contributes to the Department's strategic direction, drives innovation and organisational improvement, and leads the delivery of contemporary services that support educational outcomes for students across Western Australia.
The Ideal Applicant
To be successful in this role you will be an accomplished executive leader with substantial experience leading large-scale operational, infrastructure, facilities management, asset management, property or service delivery functions within a complex environment.
You will ideally have a proven track record of delivering strategic outcomes through strong leadership, sound commercial judgement and effective stakeholder engagement. You will be comfortable operating in complex and dynamic environments, balancing competing priorities, managing risk and making informed decisions that deliver long-term value.
You will excel at building productive relationships, influencing senior stakeholders and leading high-performing teams through change. Your ability to think strategically, identify emerging issues and implement practical solutions enables you to drive continuous improvement and organisational performance.
