Qualified Carpenter – Long Term Opportunity

We’re a small, family run carpentry business looking for a qualified carpenter to join our team.
We do a mix of residential carpentry work including decks, pergolas, fit outs, cladding, repairs, maintenance, and custom projects, so the work is varied and no two weeks are exactly the same.
The role would initially be on an ABN/subcontract basis, with the goal of moving the right person into a full time permanent position.
We’re looking for someone who is confident on the tools, reliable and able to think for themselves on site and adapt when needed.
You won’t be expected to come in and run every job straight away, but we do want someone who has previous experience taking the lead or running jobs and is capable of stepping into more responsibility as the business grows.
Long term, we want someone we can leave on a job knowing it will keep moving without us needing to be there every minute.
What we’re looking for
- Qualified carpenter
- Good residential carpentry experience
- Previous experience running jobs or taking the lead on site
- Confident working unsupervised
- Able to read plans and work out what needs to happen next
- Good problem solving skills
- Reliable and turns up when they say they will
- Takes pride in their work and finishes things properly
- Comfortable communicating with clients when required
- Works well in a small team
- Current driver licence and White Card
- Own tools & transport
- ABN and appropriate insurances for the initial subcontract arrangement
