About the company
Luna Nameplate Industries (LNI) manufactures one of Australia’s largest ranges of industrial branding products. Our company’s products include 3D chrome emblem technologies, metal and decorative nameplates, self‑adhesive labels and decals, Lenscal (domed) badges and graphic panels.
About the role
LNI is on the lookout for a skilled Engineering technologist. LNI’s technical division helps customers choose appropriate materials and processes and is responsible for new product development, approval of new substrates and materials, product testing and CAD design.
The Engineering Technologist at LNI will support the production and engineering teams by working within operations, developing tooling and assisting in the maintenance and optimisation of advanced manufacturing equipment. Because LNI produces custom, high‑precision components and operates advanced equipment (Servo presses, turret tooling, and 3D‑chrome technologies), the Engineering Technologists must blend hands‑on mechanical skills with design, process optimisation and quality assurance.
Operational tasks

· Work with LNI’s technical division to identify suitable substrates, adhesives and finishes for new products, collaborate to approve new materials and conduct product testing to ensure they meet performance specifications
· Assist in modifying established mechanical practices and applying newly developed processes or materials to enhance product performance
· Program, troubleshoot and optimise CNC machinery and turret presses used to manufacture high‑precision components.
· Develop and update standard operating procedures and work instructions to improve efficiency and quality.
· Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives, analysing production data to identify bottlenecks and implementing improvements
· Participate in regular quality and safety audits to ensure compliance with LNI’s standards and relevant regulations.
· Control press and turret tool inventories, ensuring all tools are functional and available for production.
· Plan, supervise and coordinate the work of technicians and production staff, outlining work programs and reviewing them for accuracy and feasibility
· Provide technical support to LNI Account Managers and clients by explaining mechanical design concepts, answering technical enquiries and recommending solutions to technical problems
