Your new role:
As the Donor Family Support Coordinator, you will deliver advanced clinical and consultancy services across Queensland's organ and tissue donation network. Working as the sole practitioner responsible for donor family care in Queensland, you will provide specialist bereavement support, influence service development, and collaborate with healthcare professionals and national stakeholders to ensure donor families receive compassionate, patient-centred care.
In this role, you will:
Provide expert clinical advice and leadership to medical, nursing and allied health professionals.
Act as the statewide clinical reference point for donor family support coordination.
Develop and implement evidence-based practices, education programs and resources.
Mentor, supervise and support less experienced clinicians and healthcare staff.
Represent Queensland at a national level and contribute to best-practice policies and guidelines.
About you:
You are a highly experienced Social Worker, Psychologist or Counsellor with advanced clinical expertise and a passion for supporting families through grief and loss. You bring strong leadership capabilities, excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across complex healthcare environments.
You will bring:
Exceptional communication, relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.
The ability to work autonomously and exercise a high degree of professional judgement.
Experience providing clinical leadership, supervision and mentoring to multidisciplinary teams.
A commitment to delivering safe, compassionate and person-centred care.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage complex and sensitive situations.

It is responsible for the coordination of organ and tissue donation in the public and private sectors and works closely with the Queensland Tissue Banks. DonateLife Qld works in partnership with the Organ and Tissue Authority to improve access to lifesaving and life-transforming transplants for all Australians in need.
