Estimate food requirements, control stock levels, and assist with ordering food
supplies and kitchen inventory.
Maintain effective stock rotation, storage, freezing, and preservation of food
items to minimize waste.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations at all
times.
Manage kitchen operations efficiently, particularly during busy service periods, to
maintain timely food service.
Discuss menu planning, food preparation, and operational requirements with
management and other staff members.
Demonstrate cooking techniques and provide guidance on food preparation
procedures to kitchen staff.
Supervise, train, and support junior kitchen staff to maintain high performance
and workplace standards.
Monitor portion control and food costs to help achieve business profitability
targets.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment in accordance with
workplace health and safety requirements.
