About the opportunity
Townsville Hospital and Health Service is seeking a motivated Clinical Nurse - Clinical Research Coordinator to coordinate clinical trials across our neonatal service.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in advancing neonatal research and improving outcomes for infants and families.
Working within a dynamic and collaborative research environment, you will be responsible for the comprehensive management a clinical trial, from study initiation through to completion, in accordance with the National Health Medical and Research Council (NHMRC), Good Clinical Practice Guidelines (GCP) and the International Committee of Harmonisation (ICH). Role requirements
Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
Preferred by not essential:
Research or clinical trial coordination experience is beneficial
Current clinical experience in neonatal care.
GCP - Good Clinical Practice certification, or willingness to acquire within 1 month of commencing
Applicant ideally will have a working knowledge of a range of software packages used in the clinical and management environment, e.g., Microsoft Windows, Excel, Access, REDCAP and Power Point.
This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis
The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:
Comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care at an advanced level within a clinically complex environment.
Knowledge of clinical trial / research processes / requirements of GCP and how to apply them to patient care and research activities.
Independently manage a portfolio, problem solving at an advanced level in complex environments and time sensitive situations.
Support, guide, mentor, partner, role modelling and promote cooperation with multidisciplinary team members, patients and other stakeholders.
Clinical leadership to enhance use of standards and systems of work by pro-actively engaging, advocating and leading audits / identifying risk / developing improvement and education activities.
Use clinical and non-clinical information systems appropriate to the position.
Provide clinical education, peer to peer mentorship and support at an advanced level and demonstrated own professional growth and development.

Salary range: $71.85 - $76.94 p.h. (casual rate) (NG6-1)
