As part of our organisational redesign, we're introducing new roles that support Darebin's future focus and priorities.
About the role
This newly established role will help strengthen Darebin's grant governance, compliance and funding capability. Working across the organisation, you'll provide expert advice and practical support to ensure externally funded projects are delivered in line with funding agreements, reporting requirements and governance standards.
You'll also play an important role in identifying funding opportunities and supporting competitive grant applications that help deliver Council priorities and community outcomes.
You will:
- Build and maintain robust grant compliance systems, ensuring reporting, acquittal and funding obligations are met accurately and on time.
- Partner with project managers, business units and finance teams to support compliant delivery of externally funded projects.
- Identify and communicate funding opportunities and coordinate support for high-quality grant applications.
- Strengthen organisational capability by developing resources, guidance materials, templates and training that improve grant management practices.
- Monitor grant performance, identify compliance risks and recommend process improvements that enhance governance, assurance and accountability.
About you
You are a detail-oriented and collaborative professional who enjoys working across teams to achieve strong governance and funding outcomes. You can confidently interpret requirements, manage competing priorities and provide practical advice that helps others succeed.
You will bring:
- Experience in grants administration, compliance, governance or a similarly regulated environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage reporting obligations, maintain registers and coordinate multiple deadlines.
- Experience identifying funding opportunities and supporting the development of grant applications.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret funding agreements, policies and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a customer-focused and service-oriented approach.
