As a Social Worker Level 3, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting expectant parents and families with young children experiencing complex social, health, housing, financial, family and mental health challenges. Through early intervention, compassionate practice and integrated care, you’ll help strengthen parenting capacity, connect families with vital health and community services, reduce vulnerability and empower young parents to create brighter futures for themselves and their children.
You’ll be supported by an experienced team of Social Work colleagues, CNC, NUM and Nurse Manager, fostering a collaborative environment where your expertise is valued. With access to ongoing training, education and professional development opportunities, you’ll have the support and resources to continually grow your knowledge, build your strengths and make a meaningful difference in the lives of young families.
Where You’ll Be Working
Join the Young Parent Network (YPN), a specialised, referral-based secondary service supporting young families under 25 across the Maitland and Port Stephens LGAs. Working collaboratively with DCJ, the Social Worker will play a meaningful role in supporting young parents and strengthening outcomes for families.
Based at Wallsend Campus, you’ll be part of a warm and supportive multidisciplinary team where collaboration, innovation and staff wellbeing are genuinely valued. Essential Requirements:

Must hold as a minimum a bachelor degree in social work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.

Valid NSW drivers licence and willingness to travel as required and ability to travel for work purposes.
