Bookkeeper – Boutique Accounting Firm

About the Role: As our Bookkeeper, you'll play a pivotal role, providing essential administrative and client-focused support to our Compliance Team. Your day-to-day activities will include coordinating workflows, managing client interactions, and ensuring efficient administrative operations.
As our Bookkeeper, you’ll maintain accurate books for a portfolio of clients, process payroll, handle reconciliations, and support the compliance team. You’ll be managing multiple clients and tasks, ensuring their books are prepared for BAS and year-end compliance. This is a fast-paced and rewarding position suited to a capable and confident bookkeeping professional.
- Manage and maintain Xero and MYOB data files for a portfolio of the firm’s small business and SME clients.
- Process and accurately code bank transactions, invoices, bills, receipts and journal entries, ensuring client ledgers remain current and accurate.
- Complete regular bank, credit card, loan and balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Manage client accounts payable and accounts receivable, including supplier payments, customer invoicing and monitoring outstanding accounts.
- Process client payroll, including STP reporting, superannuation, leave entitlements and other payroll compliance requirements.
- Prepare and review client books for BAS and IAS preparation and lodgement, including GST, PAYG withholding and supporting reconciliations.
- Maintain client accounts to year-end ready standard, liaising with clients and AFM accountants to resolve queries and ensure complete and accurate records for compliance work
About You:
· Previous experience in Bookkeeping, ideally within accounting or professional services.
· Exceptional organisational and time-management skills.
· Proficient in Xero, MYOB, Microsoft Office Suite, and similar platforms.
· Strong communication skills, with a client-focused and professional approach.
· Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritise, and solve problems efficiently.
· Commitment to confidentiality and maintaining high compliance standards.

Pay: $60,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
