A Concrete Truck Driver at Heidelberg Materials Australia is responsible for safely delivering ready-mix concrete from batching plants to construction sites, residential projects, roads, and commercial developments across Australia.
Main Duties
Drive and operate an agitator/concrete truck safely
Deliver ready-mix concrete to customer job sites on schedule
Inspect the vehicle before and after trips
Operate mixing controls to keep concrete at correct consistency
Complete delivery paperwork and electronic logs
Follow traffic laws, fatigue management, and workplace safety rules
Communicate with dispatchers, plant operators, and site workers
Wash down and clean the truck after deliveries
Report vehicle faults or maintenance issues
Assist customers during concrete pours when required
Work Environment
Construction sites, roads, residential developments, and industrial projects
Early morning starts are common
Outdoor work in various weather conditions
Shift work and overtime may be available
Skills and Requirements
Valid Heavy Rigid (HR) or Medium Rigid (MR) truck license in Australia
Safe driving record
Knowledge of road safety and heavy vehicle regulations
Ability to work independently
Good communication and customer service skills
Physical fitness for climbing and cleaning tasks
White Card (construction induction card) may be required
Preferred Qualifications
Experience driving agitator or heavy trucks
Knowledge of concrete products and construction sites
Basic mechanical knowledge
