About the role:
The Medical Imaging Department at St Vincent's Hospital Sydney is inviting applications for Staff Specialist Radiologists. As a radiologist at St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney, you will be an integral part of a tertiary-level imaging department with access to a stimulating case mix in a collegial and supportive atmosphere.
St Vincent’s Medical Imaging (MI) provides a comprehensive imaging service to inpatients, emergency department patients and outpatients as well as collaborating with world class research institutions on campus.
We are a patient focussed service, highly engaged in multi-disciplinary care on campus with a strong research arm, quality education and training.
Our comprehensive range of diagnostic and interventional radiology services operating 24/7 includes:
- Computed Tomography (including cardiac CT)
- MRI (2 x3T, 1.5T), MRgFUS
- Dedicated interventional radiology suites
- Full range of Image guided procedures
We are accredited by ACHS for the National Safety & Quality Standards, Diagnostic Imaging Accreditation Scheme (DIAS), Practice Accreditation Standards (NATA) and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiology (RANZCR).
The Staff Specialist has responsibility for service standards, patient throughput, continuing education, research, training of staff and students as well as liaison with key stakeholders and other relevant professional bodies. This includes:
- Provision of high-quality diagnostic reporting
- Report and validate imaging reports in a timely manner and communicate urgent reports appropriately.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, teaching and research duties.
- Promotion of good patient care and the good reputation of the department and the hospital.
- Participation in on-call rosters.
- Collaborate with clinicians across the hospital and within the department

Selection Criteria:
- Possess, or be eligible for, specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia and be eligible to obtain a Medicare provider number.
- Hold Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR), or equivalent accreditation under the Health Insurance Act. Subspeciality expertise in Musculoskeletal (MSK) and Thoracic Imaging will be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience in clinical service planning, and in the provision of a patient focused, high-quality and cost-effective radiology services, with a commitment to best practice and innovation.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to foster a culture of learning, innovation and continuous quality improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, high-quality patient care while working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Ongoing contribution to research, education, knowledge translation and academic activities appropriate to a tertiary teaching hospital.
- Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.
