The opportunity
As the Team Leader Waste and Cleansing Services, you will lead a team of supervisors and operational staff responsible for keeping Hobsons Bay clean, safe and well maintained. This role oversees waste collection, public amenity cleansing, beach and litter services, operational planning, contractor management and customer service outcomes, while fostering a strong safety culture and driving continuous service improvement.
What you’ll do
- Lead and develop supervisors and operational teams to deliver high quality services.
- Coordinate waste, cleansing and public amenity operations across the municipality.
- Ensure workplace health, safety, compliance and risk management requirements are met.
- Plan and manage operational programs, resources, fleet and contractors.
- Respond to customer enquiries, complaints and service requests while driving continuous improvement.
What you need to succeed
- Relevant qualifications in leadership, management, waste management, environmental services or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary operational teams in waste, cleansing, infrastructure or local government environments.
- Proven ability to manage supervisors, contractors and service providers.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, customer service and communication skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of workplace health and safety, risk management and compliance practices.

Pre-Employment Requirements
Progressed candidates will be required to complete a National Police Record Check, a Pre-Employment Medical Check, Qualification check & a Working With Children Check (WWCC). Candidates must also hold a valid Victorian Driver's License and a current Truck License, Light Rigid (LR)
