M&C Brothers Pty Ltd, trading as M Element Hair Salon, is a well-established and growing salon based in Box Hill, Victoria. We pride ourselves on delivering premium hairdressing services in a professional, welcoming and contemporary environment, and on building lasting relationships with our loyal client base. Due to continued business growth, we are seeking an experienced and skilled Hairdresser to join our team on a full-time, ongoing basis.
About the Role
Reporting to the salon owners, the successful candidate will provide a full range of hairdressing services to our clients, from initial consultation through to finished style, helping us maintain the high standards of service our clients expect.
Key Responsibilities
- Consult with clients and provide advice on hair care, beauty products and suitable hairstyles.
- Shampoo hair, condition scalps, and treat hair and scalp conditions.
- Colour, straighten and permanently wave hair, including highlighting, balayage, bleaching and toning.
- Cut hair using scissors, clippers and razors, and style and finish hair using a range of modern techniques.
- Style hair into braids and dreadlocks, and apply hair extensions.
- Shave and trim beards and moustaches.
- Clean work areas and sanitise tools and instruments in line with salon hygiene and workplace safety standards.
- Arrange client appointments and collect payments.
- Maintain accurate client records and keep up to date with current hairdressing trends and product knowledge.
- Deliver a consistently high standard of customer service to build client loyalty.
Skills & Experience
- Certificate III in Hairdressing (or equivalent work experience)
- Minimum 2 years' relevant experience in a hairdressing salon.
- Strong technical hairdressing skills across cutting, colouring and styling.
- Sound knowledge of health, hygiene and safety practices within the hairdressing industry.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- A genuine passion for hairdressing and delivering exceptional client outcomes.
