About the Position
Bond University is seeking an accomplished and collaborative academic leader to join the Faculty of Society & Design as Head of School, Psychology and Social Sciences. Reporting to the Executive Dean and as a member of the Faculty Extended Executive, the role provides strategic academic, people and operational leadership across the Psychology and Social Sciences disciplines, contributing to Faculty governance, planning and decision-making at a senior level.
The School plays an important role in advancing the University’s strategic priorities across education, research and engagement. The Head of School will lead academic quality, curriculum oversight, accreditation alignment and operational coordination within the School, including workforce planning and teaching allocation, while supporting continuous improvement in the student experience. The role works closely with Faculty leadership to foster a collegial, high-performing and student-centred environment and includes oversight of key Psychology teaching clinic operations within the Bond University Health & Wellness Clinic (BUHAWC), including support for the Clinic Director and Deputy Director.
The School supports an active research culture characterised by interdisciplinary collaboration, higher degree research engagement, and strong connections across national and international academic and professional networks. The Head of School will contribute to strengthening research performance and culture within the discipline through staff development, collaboration and scholarly engagement, while maintaining an active research profile appropriate to level.
The position operates within a balanced academic workload model comprising leadership and service responsibilities alongside ongoing contributions to research and teaching.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

A PhD in Psychology or a closely related discipline, with full registration as a Psychologist (or eligibility) with AHPRA. Clinical Psychology endorsement would be highly regarded.

Demonstrated academic leadership experience within higher education, including curriculum development, course design, and leadership of Psychology programs, including Clinical Psychology.

Proven capability in assuring academic quality and standards, including assessment design, moderation, Board of Examiners processes, accreditation alignment and continuous improvement in teaching and learning.

Experience leading and managing academic staff, including workload planning, performance development and fostering an inclusive, collegial and high-performing culture.

An established or emerging research profile with contributions at a national and/or international level, together with a demonstrated commitment to strengthening research culture within a discipline.

Highly developed communication, relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to represent the discipline internally and externally and build productive relationships with professional bodies, industry and community partners.
