Tell me about this role:
As the fundamental inputs to capability (FIC) SME, you will be responsible for delivering Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and sustainment outcomes across complex Defence capability projects. Working closely with project teams, industry partners and Defence stakeholders, you will provide expert advice on logistics support, supply chain management, technical data, obsolescence management and life cycle costing.
The position plays a critical role in ensuring capability systems remain supportable, sustainable and operationally effective throughout their life cycle. You will coordinate logistics activities, manage key ILS documentation, support sustainment contracts, and work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes for Defence.
This full-time position is based in Canberra.
What will I be doing day to day?
- Review Contractor Deliverable Requirements Lists (CDRLs) and Data Item Descriptions (DIDs) and provide feedback to ensure contractual compliance
- Develop and review logistics aspects of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs)
- Manage logistics information within Defence systems, including MILIS and S/4HANA
- Support supply and sustainment activities in line with Integrated Logistics Support plans and requirements
- Conduct sparing analysis, develop Recommended Spare Parts Lists (RSPLs) and perform sparing modelling activities
- Develop and maintain logistics documentation including ILS plans, disposal plans, obsolescence management plans and technical data libraries
- Support life cycle costing activities and contribute to Integrated Support System (ISS) and ILS outcomes
- Attend and represent the organisation at stakeholder meetings, working groups and project forums
- Collaborate closely with project management, commercial, scheduling, industry and Defence stakeholders to deliver capability outcomes
What sort of skills do I need?
- Experience in Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) or sustainment management within a Defence or complex technical environment
- Knowledge of Defence logistics systems such as MILIS and/or SAP S/4HANA
- Understanding of supply support, inventory management and sparing analysis methodologies
- Ability to interpret technical documentation, contractual deliverables and engineering change proposals
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build relationships across Defence, industry and project teams
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal with a proactive, collaborative approach and strong attention to detail
- Australian citizenship and NV1 security clearance at a minimum
