About the Role
Fuego Nero (Brisbane) Pty Ltd is looking for a passionate and experienced Chef to join our growing kitchen team in the heart of Brisbane CBD.
This is a full-time opportunity for a motivated professional who takes pride in producing exceptional food, maintaining high kitchen standards, and working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Our menu focuses on premium steaks, seafood, Spanish-inspired cuisine, and modern Australian flavours, with an emphasis on quality ingredients and outstanding presentation.
As a Chef, you will play an important role in delivering memorable dining experiences while supporting the Head Chef in maintaining consistency, creativity, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with recipes and presentation standards.
- Ensure consistency, quality, and portion control across all menu items.
- Assist with menu development, seasonal specials, and new dish creation.
- Maintain the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness.
- Monitor food quality throughout preparation and service.
- Manage stock rotation, minimise waste, and assist with inventory control.
- Train, mentor, and support junior kitchen staff.
- Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining exceptional standards.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and maintained correctly.
- Work collaboratively with the front-of-house and kitchen teams to deliver an outstanding guest experience.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- At least 2 years of experience working as a Chef in a busy restaurant or hospitality venue.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, grilling techniques, and commercial kitchen operations.
- Experience with premium meat and seafood is highly regarded.
- A sound understanding of Australian food safety and hygiene standards.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- The ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- A positive attitude and willingness to support your team.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Relevant commercial cookery qualifications (Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery preferred).

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
