We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistant - Special Needs (EASN) for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role
As EASN, suitable applicants would support students with a range of disabilities and additional needs within a collaborative and inclusive school environment. Working under the guidance of teachers and school leaders, suitable applicants will assist in delivering planned learning programs and help create a supportive classroom where students can participate and succeed. Building positive relationships with students, staff, and families is an important part of the role.
Suitable applicants will ideally support individual and small groups of students, helping to implement tailored programs and encourage independence, self‑management, and engagement in learning. The role also includes providing assistance with classroom preparation, monitoring student progress, and applying strategies to support behaviour and wellbeing. Experience working with students with diverse needs, including autism and learning or behavioural challenges, is desirable, along with a willingness to further develop skills.
Suitable applicants will ideally be organised, flexible, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Ideally, suitable applicants would follow Department procedures, maintain appropriate records, and support targeted programs such as Literacy Intervention. Suitable applicants will ideally support students to develop their reading, writing, and communication skills through structured activities, while promoting a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
