Join Our Team as a Mental Health Support Worker
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team, working with clients who are living with challenging mental health needs.
About the role:
- To undertake the tasks detailed in the participants' Care Plan using a person-centered approach
- Providing emotional support and active listening
- Assisting participants to develop coping strategies and daily living skills
- Supporting participants to engage in community, appointments, and social activities
- Implementing behaviour support strategies
- Maintaining accurate documentation and incident reporting
- Promoting participant choice, dignity and empowerment at all times
- To maintain good communication and develop effective working relationships with participants
Job Details:
- Qualification Requirement: Cert 3 in Disability / Individual Support
- Minimum 2 years' experience supporting clients with mental health conditions and challenging behavior (e.g., anxiety, depression, bipolar, PTSD)
- Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance required for community access and transport duties
- Expected Hours: 24:7 roster including overnight support. Minimum availability 2 shifts per week / 16 hours minimum
- Required Licenses/Certifications: Full Driving Licence, Working with Children Check, NDIS Workers Screening, Police Check, First Aid and CPR
- Work Authorization: Australia (Required)
