Deli & Café All-Rounder – Uncle’s Deli
Dandenong, Melbourne | 10–38 hours per week | Monday–Saturday
Uncle’s Deli is looking for an experienced Deli & Café All-Rounder to join our team in Dandenong.
Uncle’s Deli is the flagship store of Uncle’s Smallgoods, a Melbourne family business that has been making premium smallgoods since 1994. Our deli brings the whole Uncle’s brand together in one place: great smallgoods, fresh food, produce and Veneziano coffee.
We’re looking for someone who loves good food, enjoys working with people and is happy to get stuck into whatever needs doing.
The role
It’s a genuine all-rounder position, with your day including:
- Serving customers and providing great customer service
- Making coffee
- Working behind the deli counter, including slicing and preparing smallgoods
- Food preparation
- Restocking and merchandising
- Keeping the deli clean, organised and looking great
- Helping with the general day-to-day running of the store
You’ll also be part of the wider Uncle’s Smallgoods business, with the opportunity to learn about our products, how they’re made, new product launches and what goes into running a growing food business.
About you
Hospitality, café or deli experience is essential, but attitude is just as important.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has previous hospitality, café, deli or food retail experience
- Is friendly, confident and great with customers
- Has a genuine interest in food
- Is reliable and willing to get stuck in
- Works well as part of a small team
- Is comfortable in a busy environment
Barista experience would be a big plus.
Speaking Italian or Polish is also a bonus, but definitely not essential.
Hours
We can offer anywhere from 10 to 38 hours per week, depending on your availability and what you're looking for.
Our deli is open Monday to Saturday and there is flexibility around days and hours for the right person.
