- SES-1 - Total Remuneration Package $232,790 to $298,488

About the role
Reporting to the Assistant Commissioner, Our People, this role provides enterprise leadership of Victoria Police's workplace relations, HR business partnering and inclusion functions. You will lead the delivery of complex and high-impact human resource services, ensuring contemporary industrial and employee relations practices, strong governance, and inclusive organisational outcomes.
You will be accountable for the leadership and performance of workplace relations, delivering services across industrial relations, HR business partnering, executive employment and recruitment, classifications and reviews, workplace change, VPS misconduct and workplace behaviours.
As a member of Command, Victoria Police's senior leadership group, you will contribute to organisational strategy and provide whole-of-organisation leadership, aligning people strategies, workplace relations frameworks and inclusion initiatives with government priorities and organisational objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership across workplace relations, HR business partnering and inclusion functions in a complex operating environment.
- Deliver authoritative, high-level advice to Command on industrial relations, workplace relations and organisational change matters.
- Lead and drive strategic organisational change and continuous improvement initiatives, including diversity, inclusion and gender equality outcomes.
- Build and maintain effective, collaborative relationships with senior executives, unions and key stakeholders.
- Champion a respectful, inclusive workplace culture aligned to Victoria Police values.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies and governance frameworks relating to workforce management and industrial relations.
About you
You are an accomplished senior HR and workplace relations executive with a strong record of delivering outcomes in complex, high-profile environments. You bring:
- Extensive experience in workplace relations, HR business partnering and broader human resource functions.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver HR/IR strategies aligned to organisational and government priorities.
- Strong leadership capability with experience leading high-performing, multidisciplinary teams through change.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills, including experience working with unions.
- Demonstrated ability to provide authoritative advice on complex workplace matters at executive level.
- Strong experience in driving diversity, inclusion and gender equality strategies and initiatives.
- Highly developed judgement, resilience and ethical leadership.
- A strong commitment to organisational values and public sector integrity.
Requirements and relevant information
- A relevant tertiary qualification is desirable.
- Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
- The successful candidate will be required to enter into a Contract of Employment for a period of up to five (5) years.
- The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks, including fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
- The successful candidate must obtain and maintain the required National Security Clearance.
