About the Role

Yadu Health is looking for a talented Cook to join the team at Seaview Village – a small, home‑like aged care facility for Aboriginal Elders and community members. Your meals won’t just be eaten, they’ll be looked forward to. Every day, your skills will bring comfort, connection, and quality of life to our residents and clients.
The Cook is a valued member of the team and is responsible for preparing nutritious, culturally appropriate meals. You’ll work closely with clinical staff, dietitians, and residents to ensure meals meet dietary needs, cultural preferences, and individual care plans.
Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Planning and preparing nutritious, culturally appropriate meals aligned with dietary needs and care plans.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant kitchen environment in line with food safety standards.
- Uphold and ensure high food safety standards
- Uphold and demonstrate cooking and food experience as outlined in the Aged Care Quality and Safety Strengthened Standards
- Managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimising food waste.
- Supporting meal service and promoting resident choice, independence, and dignity.
- Participating in community events, cultural activities, and special catering as required.
This role requires someone who is proactive, culturally respectful, and deeply aligned with our mission to support First Nations health outcomes.
About You
To thrive in this position, we are looking for candidates who can meet the following criteria:
- Trade qualifications or trade equivalent skills as a Cook.
- Minimum of 2 years post-trade experience working as a Cook.
- Experience in meal planning and preparation.
- Experience monitoring and overseeing inventory and supplies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience as a Cook in aged care or similar environments (desirable).
- Valid Driver Licence (Class C or equivalent).
- Have permanent work rights in Australia without needing employer sponsorship.
