About the Role
Teys Australia is seeking a Legal Counsel to join ourLegal & Risk team, based at our corporate office in Eight Mile Plains, Brisbane.
In this role, you will partner with leaders across the business to provide practical, commercially focused legal advice across a broad range of areas, including trade, commercial, financial and operational matters.
Reporting to the General Counsel, your key responsibilities will include:

Providing clear, practical legal advice to support business decisions

Identifying and managing legal risk in a commercial context

Researching and interpreting relevant legislation, regulations and case law

Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of commercial agreements and documents

Supporting business leaders with solutions that balance legal requirements and operational needs
About You
You must have the following experience/skills:
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD)

Admitted as an Australian lawyer (admission to the Supreme Court) with a current practicing certificate; 2-4 years post admission experience

Ability to build trusting and collaborative relationships and proactively address conflict

Ability to problem solve using a creative, resilient and agile approach
- Excellent communication, advocacy, writing and drafting skills
Desirable:

Work Experience in agribusiness, manufacturing or other related industries
