About the Role
CFA is seeking an experienced Manager Culture & Child Safety to embed and drive a culture where child safety, inclusion and respect are central to leadership and everyday operations.
Reporting to the Senior Manager Culture & Inclusion, you will lead the delivery of CFA's child safety and culture initiatives, providing expert advice, driving strategic priorities and translating legislative requirements into practical, organisation-wide outcomes. You will strengthen compliance with the Victorian Child Safe Standards, support effective risk management and incident response, and contribute to broader culture, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
We're seeking a highly influential leader who can build trusted relationships across diverse stakeholder groups, confidently navigate complex organisational environments and drive strategic initiatives through strong project, risk and change management while delivering practical outcomes.
You bring significant experience in child safety, safeguarding, culture, governance, inclusion or risk within a complex organisation, together with:

Strong knowledge of the Victorian Child Safe Standards and related legislation.

Experience developing and implementing strategies, frameworks and improvement initiatives.

Excellent stakeholder engagement, influencing, project and change management skills.

The ability to provide strategic leadership while delivering practical outcomes.

About You
Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Human Services or Social Welfare, Psychology or Behavioural Science, or other related field and/or demonstrated experience in a similar management role within a large and complex organisation.

Demonstrated understanding of the Child Safe Standards and the ability to provide expert advice on their application and implementation.

Demonstrated understanding of and experience in the implementation of large-scale regulatory frameworks and standards.

Demonstrated ability to translate policy and legislative requirements into practical, operationally relevant guidance.

Substantial experience in developing and implementing strategic plans and associated projects or initiatives to achieve organisational priorities.

A strong understanding of the people aspects of change management and demonstrated experience in applying change management principles and practices within organisations.

Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to write Executive and Board papers to a high standard, as well as translate complex information into simple guidance materials for users.

Strong inter-personal, communication and relationship-building skills with ability to successfully consult, influence and negotiate at all levels.
