We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and customer focused Duty Manager to join our team at our indoor golf simulator venue. This hands on role is responsible for the day to day operation of the venue during rostered shifts, delivering outstanding customer service, overseeing competitions and events, and ensuring a safe, welcoming and professional environment for all guests.
The successful applicant will be passionate about hospitality, enjoy working with people, and have the ability to lead a shift independently.
Key Responsibilities Venue Operations
- Open and close the venue in accordance with company procedures.
- Manage the smooth day to day operation of the venue during rostered shifts.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and organisation throughout the venue.
- Monitor bookings and ensure simulator bays operate efficiently.
- Handle customer enquiries, bookings and issue resolution professionally.
Competitions & Events
- Coordinate and run golf competitions and leagues.
- Assist with planning and delivering corporate events, private functions and tournaments.
- Set up and pack down events.
- Ensure competitions are run fairly and efficiently, including recording and communicating results.
- Encourage customer participation and help build an engaging golfing community.
Food & Beverage
- Prepare and serve food and beverages in accordance with food safety standards.
- Maintain food preparation areas and ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Monitor stock levels and advise when replenishment is required.
Leadership & Compliance
- Supervise staff during shifts where required.
- Ensure compliance with Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and venue licensing requirements.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures.
- Manage customer concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
- Support the Venue Manager with general operational tasks and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Requirements
- Approved Manager's Card (current).
- Current Food Handler Certificate.
- Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification.
- Previous experience in hospitality, licensed venues or customer service.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.
Desirable
- Interest in golf or experience using golf simulators.
- Previous experience running sporting competitions or events.
- Experience with booking or point of sale systems.
- First Aid Certificate (desirable but not essential).
